ANovelMillion.com Launches Global Created Multi-Author Story

ANovelMillion.com looks to become the largest-authored story ever and is already a global affair. In it’s first A novel website is set to create the largest authored story in history and allows anyone to influence the storyline and become an author.  “It’s Million Dollar Homepage meets Choose Your Own Adventure,” explained concept creator Aditya Kesarcodi-Watson. “Aspiring authors get to add their own content sequentially and dictate the course of the story, with the added benefit of being able to link their passage through to a website of their choice,” he added.

Participating authors pay www.anovelmillon.com $1 per word that is contained in their passage. The story will continue to evolve until such time as the story is composed of one million words.

A Novel Million is being created globally. Anyone can contribute and influence the storyline however they like, within a few simple guidelines that are contained on the website.

In addition to the publicity, advertising opportunity and the benefit of helping mold this historic novel, each author is also offered a share in the royalties achieved from future publishing of the stories.

Although only recently debuting on the internet, the site has been getting a lot of attention; it has been viewed in over 38 countries and had over 35,000 hits in just 3 weeks. Interest in the website has been reflected in site statistics; 30% of the people who have visited the site book-marking it in their favorites.

The word is spreading and the stories are continually capturing new people’s attention.

“It’s the evolving nature of the story that keeps bringing people back” said Kesarcodi-Watson.

How can a linear process evolve?
written by rick davies on May 27, 2007

An evolving text would have a branching structure, with some branches growing profusely, and other remaining stunted. Because many writers have added their sentences to some branches, and few to others. The reader would have a series of choice points in the text, where they could decide which branch of the story to follow. These could be in the form of two alternative sentences. Each of which had their own "descendants"(other sentences that followed on.

I dont think I saw this sort of structure in the ANovelMillion.com website
