The creator of the hot-selling video game series The Sims has a new game coming out this weekend. In Spore, players create their own worlds starting from creatures the size of a cell. The cell and the world evolve, and ultimately an entire civilization is created. Some say it may help young people get interested in science.
An eight piece band, an orchestral string section, a djembe. These aren't the typical sights you expect on stage at a hip-hop concert. Then again, Blitz the Ambassador is far from a typical hip-hop artist.
I needed two visits to the recently closed exhibition, “Pollock Matters,” at the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, New York, to finally reconcile my feelings toward one of the 20th century’s most original artists.
Senator Barack Obama's tough talk is
necessary, but Rev. Jesse Jackson's concerns are also important.
While Obama is advocating for a more perfect union, Rev. Jackson is
asking for a more perfect justice system. After all, a union can't
be perfect without an underlying perfect association.
I watched the HBO miniseries on John Adams
during the fourth of July weekend. The miniseries is based on the
book by David McCullough on the second President of the United
States. The movie portrays a somewhat vain fellow who was not a
very skilled diplomat and detested the notion of compromise.
In a previous post, I discussed Obama's
positions on key economic issues. In this post, I will compare and
contrast the two candidates on those same economic issues. After
reviewing these issues, I am confident that you will conclude that
Barack Obama is a friend of working people while John McCain is a
friend of big business and the wealthy elite.
High priced gasoline is not the PROBLEM.
High priced gasoline is the SOLUTION!
The PROBLEM is that it has been thirty five years since OPEC
whacked us between the eyes, and told us that we were at the mercy
of a bunch of evil tyrants who controlled enough of the world
supply of oil that they could do anything they wanted. Thirty five
years later we have done nothing to solve this problem, and we have
made those evil tyrants exceedingly rich, powerful, and
dangerous.
HIGH PRICED GASOLINE AND OIL IS THE ONLY
GOOD THING ABOUT THE CURRENT SITUATION!
Obama is asking us to believe in change, and I for one do. What is it about this man that makes us want to follow him? He is charismatic beyond words; he is hopeful, pregressive, intelligent, peaceful, inspiring and down to earth. He stands for something we sorely need in our declining country, change. On his website he has a quote, "I'm asking you to believe. Not just in my ability to bring about real change in Washington... I'm asking you tobelieve in yours." And it seems that America is ready to believe.
