Who Is Afraid of Poetry?
Books + Literature
Written by Joy Cagil
In the writing site where I belong, there is a SLAM underway. It is not the kind of oral SLAM that goes on in the coffee houses, but it is a friendly online poetry competition that is considered a huge event by our members. Poetry is a big craze in our site, and although the site is a general writing site, almost every member has tried his hand in poetry.

Which Craft?
Society + Culture
Written by Rachel Eagle Reiter

I don't believe in using weapons of war.  If I were ever drafted, I would plead pacifism.  Perhaps, worse than being required to pick up a gun, would be the procedure of having my locks cut off.  My hair is sacred to me; it's what I call my femininfluence.

Outliving The Scars On My Back
Film + Theatre
Written by Christopher Walsh
Paris Davis Dean is back. Some might remember her captivating performance at New York’s “Apollo Theatre”, in her portrayal of Miss Jane Pittman. As quoted from Actor and Comedian Steve Harvey (“Apollo #10”), “She shut the room down”.

Importance of Being Human
Society + Culture
Written by Rachel Eagle Reiter
The division that exists, due to race differences, is not my notion of society.  Society includes a diverse range of human beings, all of whom make America all the more beautiful.  The importance exists in being human.  One of the questions that I dislike most, that arises so very often is 'What is your ethnicity?'
