She bleeds from her past bleeds for her future trying to ease the agony her veins let her life spill forth into the soil for her unborn seeds already feeding them her spirit hoping they will understand
Carrying the sorrow of centuries long over she lets the blood flow into the water washing the sadness of her ancestors away hoping her salt won't infect but already knowing it will be alright She raises her dripping hands to the sky pleading for her blood praying each drop will pool together after so many generations of hemorrhaging and leeching Wanting to give her people a transfusion she drains herself into the earth cups her blood in her hands and hurls it into the ether willing it trying to heal the neglect wash away the despair purge the indifference ©2005 Vicky Therese Davis -- Vicky http://www.vickytdavis.blogspot.com http://www.myspace.com/blackjade78 http://www.indulgencejewelry.com http://www.baronseries.com

Support NY Review
It's not hard to imagine all the costs associated with maintaining our site and making sure it remains available for free. But we think that we play an important role in giving a platform to writers, artists and thinkers to spark thought, host intelectual conversation and report on socio-politcal happenings in theworld around us.
We are proud that we are able to offer this to our audience free of charge. But, if you are able, we do ask that you make a donation to support the site.
Thanks
