The Adoration of Charity and other poems by Angela Costi

The Adoration of Charity
Angela Costi

She is more than a passing gaze

more than a smile in a room of strangers

more than a substantial donation to a worthy cause

within the folds of her demure gown

she stores her generosity

warm and ripened for various occasions

to champagne toast those zillion zeros.

At night is when she really swells

in pillows flooded with tears

a gush of love to hug and cuddle all sleep.

Bleeding PDF Print E-mail
Written by Vicky Therese Davis
She
bleeds from her past
bleeds for her future
trying to ease the agony
her veins let her life spill forth
into the soil for her unborn seeds
already feeding them her spirit
hoping they will understand

So what if you're Fly
Wear a suit and Tie
Tilt your head and Sigh

Woman on the Move PDF Print E-mail
Written by Rachel Eagle Reiter
I'm grabbing my Bags
Walking out the Door

You think this is All I'm good for

You've seen the Last of my body
You hardly know the Rest of me
You fail to see the Best in me

Give me a Year...
You won't even recognize me

I'm spreading my Unclipped wings
This is not the nest for me

It lays in the quest taking

It laid in the venture within

It rains on great investments

Reigning with honor and integrity

Yet it only comes once

Flowers are those places

That butterflies and hummingbirds

Can go

That one true oasis

Where sugar sweet comes

In the form of

Morning dew

A Young Heart Filled With A Million Woes PDF Print E-mail
Written by Joy B.
A young heart filled with a million woes,
Sorrow, depression, regret..
All things hard to forget.
Naive mind, pure soul,
Open to all of the unknown and unexplained..
Pushing to the edge of what is sane.
Lost dreams, broken hopes, lows then highs,

Consider All Causes PDF Print E-mail
Written by Rachel Eagle Reiter
Vegans, you are a powerful voice
Defending animals is your righteous choice
I urge you to go into law
Look your opponents in the face
Say 'I'm a lawyer, but I'm also a vegan
This is my animal rights case'
Sue make-up industries
For torturing innocent creatures
In the name of beauty
But do not exalt animal rights so high
That human being will have to die
Do not impede the way to a cure
For H.I.V. and so many more
Diseases, diseases, diseases
If a scientist's cause is not
Less important than yours
Do not block the laboratory doors
If you so much as attempt
To sue one laboratory
My ink will be turned on you
