Rainbow Wedding Network PDF Print E-mail
Written by Marianne Puechl
According to the Los Angeles Times on July 7, 2006 “the gay-marriage movement suffered two major defeats on the state level Thursday, as Georgia’s Supreme Court upheld an amendment banning the unions (Perdue v. O’Kelley et al., S06A1574), and New York’s highest court ruled that its state constitution did not grant same-sex couples the right to wed (NY State Court of Appeals Case No. 86, 87, 88 and 89).” However, Cindy Sproul and Marianne Puechl, co-founders of Rainbow Wedding Network Magazine and RainbowWeddingNetwork.com, believe the defeats are a call to action for the GLBT community and its allies. “These decisions are certainly a setback no one can deny,” states Sproul, “but we see every day how these situations strengthen and intensify our community’s commitment to protecting our families and civil rights as citizens of this country.”

We give you Lisa Timmons: PDF Print E-mail
Written by Lisa Timmons
So, I was told to write up a press release about the fact that I'm going to be blogging for "A Socialite's Life" (http://www.socialitelife.com) full time, hopefully crafting a clever, articulate, distinct voice for the site, with which I plan on dissecting daily celebrity gossip and Frankensteining it together in a way I hope you find amusing.

Female Masturbation, The in Thing PDF Print E-mail
Written by Emile-Anne Smith
The word masturbation comes from the Greek word mezea meaning penises, and a Latin verb masturbare that means to taint by hand or to agitate by hand. As we can see, it is a very "male" word but we all do it, only a few people will admit it to but studies show that 9 out of 10 people do it. So it may not be a public thing, but it is the "in" thing for a lot of people.

In Search of a Gay Soul PDF Print E-mail
Written by Alan Davidson
Since the beginning of religious history man has attempted to prove the existence of the human soul. That vehicle which allows God to interact with all that is humanly good in the body of man. Proving the soul as a fact has been ever elusive, however. Empirical science declares that there is no proof for the existence of such a soul. The possibilities of such spiritual questions have been relegated to philosophers, psychologists and religious leaders. Some gay spiritual teachers assert that, yes, there is a soul and that homosexuals themselves have a soul which is distinct from their heterosexual brothers. They also assert that this "Gay Soul" can offer elements of guidance and healing to our troubled world communities . Is there a soul unique to homosexuals? Or is this more intellectual pride and separatism? If there is any guidance and healing available from the gay community, then what is its source? These are some of the questions to address in search of the Gay Soul.

Forgiven Family Feud By Rachel Eagle Reiter

I am not writing to give you a boring history lesson, but here is an overview:  The Jews and the Muslims are long lost brothers.  Both, Jews and Muslims are descendents of the patriarch, Abraham.  Abraham is the father of the Jews and the father of the Muslims.  The descendents of Abraham, disputed over blessings, inheritances and birthrights.

An Open Letter to Burger King PDF Print E-mail

An Open Letter to Burger King [by Leila Cohan]

  Dear Burger King,

As you probably don’t know, since we’re not exactly tight, I consider myself to be both a rather liberal feminist and someone who hates humorless liberals. As such, I am exceptionally worried by any suggestion that I might be over-sensitive. I'm willing to forgive a fair amount in the name of irony.

All that being said, I'm completely offended by your new ad. The commercial changes Helen Reddy's "I Am Woman" to "I Am Man" and talks about how the new Burger King sandwich is man food.

Don't Give us Any more Tired and Poor ... Please [Essay by Steve Sommers]

A woman I worked for who was forty two, heavy, and slightly bearded met a Mexican man fifteen years her junior who, within a month, proposed to her. She accepted quite readily since there was no way she was going to do any better. Then they got married. I think no one is going to be surprised to discover that he was in this country illegally - Gasp! My co-worker you might guess from my description was no prize (she thought she was. Nope) And you might think to yourself that she must have had a good heart - nope. No good heart, either.

An Open Letter to God PDF Print E-mail
Written by Ann Weaver Hart

Dear God,

Please don't take this personally, but I really think I have had quite enough of your followers. They all seem like nice people until I get to watching them, and then it all falls apart. Granted, I am not perfect, and I do not claim to be a lot better, but these followers of yours, well, they seem downright dangerous.
